The most common subjects discussed included healthcare, current and potential problems, gaps in or missing resources, equitable access, factors of and reactions to maternal mortality rates, the impact and use of power, and pregnancy specific issues. Moderate discussion occurred on subjects of various kinds of education and the concept of doulas. Very little discussion happened regarding employment and the younger generation.
Most participants discussed healthcare. Issues mentioned encompassed:

  • religious influence on medical care,
  • access to healthcare and impact of lack of access
  • the non-medical nature of administration.
